Sunshine Skillet and Food Fair
Take the Fork in the Road to Medicine Hat
Canada’s “sunniest city” sizzles with the launch of new culinary event
Save the Date! Sunshine Skillet & Food Fair will be April 12-13, 2014!
Chefs and chowhounds were invited to head to Medicine Hat on April 13-14, 2013 for the launch of the city’s inaugural culinary event, the Sunshine Skillet and Food Fair.
This two-day event was held at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede and offered guests two culinary experiences to tempt the palate. Here is some of the information about this year's event:
See…Watch chefs battle it out during exciting amateur and professional culinary competitions. Chefs will require skill, speed and ingenuity to wow a judging panel with their creative plates, while working with limited equipment, basic pantry items, and a mystery basket of food that will be revealed at the beginning of each competitive leg. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded, in addition to one Alberta-based chef in the professional category receiving recognition from the Alberta Culinary Tourism Alliance.
Taste…Smell…Feeling a little peckish from watching all the exciting culinary battling? Head over to the Food Fair, which will provide guests the opportunity to graze their way through a farmer’s market-style food fair – an authentic way to explore culinary-oriented products and experience a wide array of nibbles from regional restaurants and food purveyors.
The Sunshine Skillet and Food Fair sets the stage for guests to Taste, Smell, See – and for only $3.00pp*! Who needs a more tasty enticement to hit the road to Medicine Hat this spring and explore the Canadian Badlands? (*Admission cost does not include alcohol)
